Committment to Community
Otis McAllister, Inc., and its subsidiaries pledge to aid in the development of the communities that we serve.

We are committed to invest time, energy, and resources to support educational, social development, and special fundraising projects.

In 2007, we supported the Earth Island Institute by contributing to their worldwide Dolphin Safe Monitoring program. The monitoring program works to uphold the dolphin safe standards worldwide of "no encirclement of dolphins or other marine mammals during an entire fishing trip, no accidental deaths or serious injuries of any dolphins, and no use of drift gill nets." In September and October 2007, Otis McAllister, Inc., participated in Health Fairs in Redwood City and San Rafael, California, by donating canned fish items and through helping to educate the Hispanic community about the health benefits of eating canned fish.

On October 20, 2007, Otis McAllister, Inc., participated in the Central American Festival at the Civic Center in San Francisco, California, as a way of celebrating and being involved with the local Central American community. During the festival, Otis McAllister, Inc., donated and prepared various health food items to give to the people attending the event.

Also in 2007, we participated in the radio program Noches Chapinas and the "5 de Mayo" Festival in Oakland, California, an event coordinated through the Guatemala Radio Program "Noches Chapina" to interact with the community and to distribute fruit cups to the kids in attendance.

Otis McAllister supports the Monument Crisis Center in Concord, California by donating canned food. The Center works to distribute food to low income, at-risk families, seniors, and individuals in need of nutritious meals.

Otis McAllister, Inc. has actively been involved with the California Trade Education Center (CTEC),the California Council for International Trade (CCIT), and the California Chamber of Commerce (CalChamber), in helping to develop domestic and foreign trade policies, as well as working with schools throughout California to bring an understanding to those policies and to develop fresh views and a renewed appreciation for the importance of global trade in the new millennium.

Our corporate officers have served on the boards of these organizations in varying capacities for greater than fifteen years, contributing to and helping to raise funds to sustain these worthwhile non-profit programs.
